Welcome to IMA
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Idaho Mediation Association and all of our members, welcome to the IMA website! The Idaho Mediation Association (IMA) was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1983. Association members practice mediation (and related types of dispute resolution) in a variety of areas including divorce, business, environmental, family, government and workplace. Many IMA members have hundreds of hours of case practice and training experience. In addition, most members have gone through the IMA’s process to become a Certified Professional Mediator (CPM). The Association fosters the advancement of mediation through education and professional development. The Idaho Mediation Association office is located in the
Boisearea with chapters throughout the state. Members live and mediate not only
Idaho, but throughout the United States as well as internationally. Our mission is to advance the use of mediation as an effective form of dispute resolution and to serve as a statewide interdisciplinary network fostering collaborative dispute resolution and conflict management processes to promote peaceful settlements. The purpose of IMA is to provide a nonprofit interdisciplinary association of persons interested in the growth and development of non-adversarial and participatory forms of dispute resolution and to promote the training and education of professional mediators in
Idaho. Smart consumers know that confidentiality, maintaining control of outcomes and feeling a sense of fairness throughout the mediation process contributes to the probability of finding answers to disputes, preserving relationships, empowering both parties and building empathy.
